Women's Fashion in History

As you may know, fashion is an ever-changing runway of styles, attitudes and ideals for women and men that change with the times and peak in later on to remind us that they haven't really ever left. According to Wikipedia, Fashion is defined as "a popular style or practice, especially in clothing, footwear, accessories, makeup, body piercing, or furniture. Fashion is a distinctive and often habitual trend in the style in which a person dresses. It is the prevailing styles in behavior and the newest creations of textile designers". In most cases, a style from the 1960s will show up on the scene years later. At Lagaci, we've gotten a lot of inspiration over the years from fashion of times past ranging anywhere from the 60s to the 90s to our modern days. Trendy clothing always returns

Our Sun-Kissed Convertible Dress has taken a lot of it's inspiration from the Sixties, including the tie-dye print and solid based colors. Our Heavenly Nahua dress, for example, is a flared, short, tube dress with embroidered detail on the front chest. Being that fashions were expected to be modest to a higher degree back in the day, the 2000s and 2010s have taken on their own air of freedom, independence and individuality. With the rise of liberalism and feminism, fashion has created it's own place in modern society and in doing so, has paved the way for more freedom of expression, one main way of expressing our selves, being through the fashions and styles we choose on a daily basis.
